Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 + bonus + overtime opportunity
Hours: 3 on 3 off shift pattern, working nights (6pm – 6am)
Summary: As a Maintenance Technician, you\’ll play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of automated equipment and systems within a FMCG production operation. You\’ll be responsible for identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and minimising downtime across the site. You will also work closely with the operations team to ensure compliance to safety standards and regulations at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a range of automated equipment and systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical & electrical faults.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to increase efficiency, productivity, quality and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 5 years previous experience working in a Maintenance / Engineering role within an automated production or logistics environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, including the ability to interpret electrical drawings.
- Experience with PLCs, conveyors and motors is highly desirable.
- Relevant engineering qualifications in both mechanical and electrical fields (such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, C&G or equivalent).
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
