Summary: This role is ideal for a technically strong supply chain professional who combines deep understanding of inventory optimisation tools with the ability to bring people on the journey, embedding new processes, building capability, and driving sustainable change. You will work closely with operational teams, analysts and senior stakeholders to diagnose issues, design solutions, and implement improved ways of working that optimise inventory levels, improve availability, and enhance end-to-end supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of a new inventory optimisation tool and methodologies.
- Identify improvement opportunities and root causes.
- Support the rollout of enhanced S&OP / IBP processes, including demand forecasting, replenishment, and supply planning disciplines.
- Develop robust inventory policies and standards to ensure accuracy, audit compliance, and consistent execution across sites.
- Engage, influence, and coach the existing supply chain and warehousing teams, ensuring adoption of new tools, processes, and behaviours.
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues across Warehousing, Logistics, Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure aligned and sustainable change.
- Track benefits, KPIs and ROI related to stock value, availability, cost-to-serve, and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with S&OP/IBP frameworks and end-to-end supply chain transformation programmes.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience implementing inventory management tools and transforming supply chain processes.
- Deep understanding of stock control, replenishment planning, safety stock methodologies, and optimisation logic.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and form clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Proven capability in leading teams through process, system, and behavioural change.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills - able to simplify complexity and influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
