As an Electrical Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition. Using your technical skills and expertise, you will carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair work to support smooth and efficient operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance requirements and potential issues.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance tasks, including lubricating machinery, replacing filters, and changing belts and hoses.
  • Diagnose and complete electrical, mechanical, and general facility repairs as required.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot faults to implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS system with all completed work and identified issues.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and team members to support efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Support the training and development of maintenance trainees to enhance their technical skills and knowledge across all maintenance functions.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance and repair operations, with strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks and lifting heavy equipment or machinery when required.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to a consistently high standard.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety regulations, with a strong commitment to maintaining safe working practices at all times.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including the ability to work varying shifts and additional hours when operationally required.
