Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established UK haulage business in a varied, hands-on finance role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support accurate ledgers, cash control and month-end processes, with a clear scope to develop your career further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices in Sage 50, match purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain supplier accounts, complete reconciliations and prepare BACS payment runs.
- Raise customer invoices, allocate receipts and support credit control and statement preparation.
- Complete bank reconciliations and post cash receipts and payments accurately.
- Support month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, VAT returns and intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with expenses, payroll administration, audit queries and finance process improvements.
Experience:
- Previous Accounts Assistant experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation required.
- Have working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar software, plus confident Excel skills.
- Be accurate, organised and able to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- An AAT qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience in haulage, logistics or transport preferred.
