Our client is continuing to expand and we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their day shift team. This is a great opportunity to secure a stable role with excellent development prospects in a supportive working environment. You will help ensure the smooth running of our transport operation for a major client and recognised brand.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan daily fleet maintenance to ensure efficiency, balancing compliance, costs, resources, and customer needs.
  • Keep planning systems accurate and up to date with all operational changes.
  • Manage changes to operational requirements and understand their impact on cost and resources.
  • Produce clear short-term and forward-looking fleet plans.
  • Identify potential issues early and put practical solutions in place to maintain service levels.
  • Support vehicle servicing schedules, MOTs, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of UK and European transport rules and best practice.
  • Work with Fleet and Compliance Managers to arrange Irish fleet repatriation for MOT when needed.
  • Identify and report cost or resourcing issues and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Work with an awareness of budgets, margins, and profit and loss.
  • Work closely with Transport Operations to ensure smooth job delivery.
  • Liaise with Finance and Operations teams to confirm plans are workable and affordable.
  • Communicate clearly with operational teams and internal stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience working within a third-party haulage or logistics environment.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK and European driver compliance rules and transport regulations.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve with a positive, proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Experience working in a cost-driven organisation with practical knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • High attention to detail with a structured and accurate approach to work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
  • GCSE Maths at Grade C / Level 4 or above.
  • Experience working with numerical, financial, and operational performance data.
  • Knowledge of UK, European, and international geography.
  • Previous experience supporting fleet servicing schedules, MOT planning, and vehicle documentation.
