An excellent opportunity has become available for a Contract Assistant to join a busy and growing transport and logistics operation. This role is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop a career within logistics, transport planning, and operations support. Working closely with the Transport Planning team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of transport activities while supporting a portfolio of high-profile customer contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Transport Planner with daily operational activities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for collection depots and transport carriers.
  • Coordinate and book collection times with relevant depots.
  • Monitor trailer availability and utilisation across multiple locations.
  • Proactively monitor operational activity and identify potential issues.
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting on operational performance and exceptions.
  • Track collections and maintain issue logs, escalating any anomalies as required.
  • Ensure procedures and service standards are consistently followed.

About You

  • Previous administration experience.
  • Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive and organised approach to work.
  • Previous experience within transport, logistics, or supply chain operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
