Summary: A proactive and driven Assistant Branch Manager is required to support the leadership of our clients 155,000 sq ft logistics and cross-dock operation, employing around 100 staff across warehouse, transport and operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into senior operational leadership within a fast‑paced, modern logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring smooth operational alignment across Transport, Warehouse, and Logistics teams.
- Managing, motivating, and supporting teams across warehouse, drivers and operational staff.
- Achieving operational KPIs, productivity goals and high service levels.
- Upholding high standards of health & safety, compliance and best practice.
- Working closely with customers and internal teams to maintain performance and service quality.
- Supporting labour planning, shift performance and staffing requirements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across transport and cross‑dock operations.
- Assisting with management of the branch P&L, labour costs, operations spend and productivity.
- Helping develop operational strategy and drive performance enhancements.
Experience:
- Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management.
- Experience managing large operational teams within logistics or distribution.
- Excellent leadership, decision‑making and organisational skills.
- Solid understanding of transport, warehouse and logistics operations.
- Experience with WMS systems and operational KPIs.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience within 3PL environments; logistics/transport qualifications (e.g. CILT); and managing multi‑function logistics operations would be desirable.
