The Transport Planner is responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of a dedicated section of the fleet, ensuring agreed service levels are maintained while maximising vehicle utilisation and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities
- Efficiently plan and route the fleet of vehicles to maximise productivity and profitability
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors
- Accurately process jobs using transport management software
- Prepare and provide quotations for customers
- Support drivers with job information and assist in resolving operational issues
- Ensure drivers comply with hours and working time regulations
- Ensure all vehicles comply with relevant legislation and company standards
- Optimise vehicle allocation and rotation to improve efficiency and productivity
- Schedule vehicles for inspections, servicing, and repairs as required
- Monitor service levels, vehicle utilisation, and customer satisfaction targets
