Summary: We are seeking an exceptional Transport Director to take strategic and operational leadership of a significant transport operation. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced transport professional who can combine commercial thinking, operational excellence and strong people leadership to drive performance, efficiency and continued growth. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will have overall responsibility for the transport operation, developing and delivering a clear strategy across fleet, drivers, compliance, safety, customer service and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading a large-scale transport operation and senior management team
- Developing and implementing the overall transport strategy
- Driving operational efficiency, service levels and profitability
- Maintaining the highest standards of O Licence, DVSA, H&S and regulatory compliance
- Leading fleet optimisation, cost control and investment decisions
- Developing a high-performing culture across the transport function
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities for technology, automation and process improvement
- Managing budgets, KPIs and commercial performance
- Ensuring the operation is fully aligned with wider business objectives
