About the Role

The purpose of this role is to identify, organize and manage production schedules, inventory and resources to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of goods in a fast-moving environment. Main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the stock levels within the order picking area, production and 3rd party storage facilities to ensure manufacturing priorities are met.
  • Coordinating material requirements and procurement timing with supply chain and purchasing teams.
  • Identifying any stock shortages, agreeing remedial action and communicating through appropriate plan amendment.
  • Working closely with the suppliers, planners and production to ensure optimum levels of raw material are available to achieve the plan.
  • Analyzing sales data, looking for sales trends and forecasting customer demand in line with factory plans.
  • Participating in sales and operations planning meetings to align production with demand forecasts.
  • Coordinating new product introductions, engineering changes, and maintenance schedules into production plans.
  • Staff shall be aware of the need to report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specific products, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A background in fresh chilled meat/poultry is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

Essential Skills

  • IT literate [Proficient in the use of MS Office and experience of ERP].
  • Good communication and management skills.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business, to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers.
  • Ability to work in both office and factory environments.
  • Willingness to embrace change and develop people within your team.
  • Is used to & capable of working in a cold environment.
  • Team Player who builds good working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrate good judgement and make sound timely decisions.
  • A strong commercial understanding of the business.

Desired Skills

  • Experience of working within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector.
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • A background in fresh chilled meat/poultry is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Stock control experience is desirable.
