An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to join our busy team. We are looking for a candidate full of enthusiasm and ready for the challenge to join our nursing team. We are a Surgery dedicated to patient‑centred care and making a positive difference in our community. We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse who is friendly and enthusiastic to provide a high quality of care to our patients.

The scope of the role will include:

  • Long Term Condition management
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Cytology
  • Smears
  • Vaccinations

A successful candidate will also be confident, have excellent organisational skills, be able to self‑manage and be IT proficient.

Main duties of the job:

  • Long Term Condition management
  • Cytology
  • Child Immunisations
  • Contraception
  • Swabs, specimens, bloods, blood pressures
  • Keeping accurate and detailed health records on the Emis system
  • A key role in QOF/QIF achievement
  • Involvement in the MDT of the Surgery
  • Clinical audits
  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Support and participate in shared learning over the Practice
  • Support for GPs in patient care
  • Review clinical practices and respond to national policies and initiatives where necessary
  • Participate in local initiatives to enhance local patient care where necessary

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working within a nursing team in General Practice
  • Experience working with EMIS
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
