About BirthGlide

BirthGlide is a medical device company with a mission to make childbirth safer for mothers and babies globally. Our simple, low-cost solution is designed to prevent difficult births and reduce the use of instrument deliveries or emergency C-sections. BirthGlide have won seven research grants and are conducting an NIHR-funded human study in 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the complete lifecycle of medical device development—from R&D and testing to production and regulatory compliance. Your contributions will have a tangible impact, and you will be at the forefront of innovation in women’s health.

  • Be hands-on in R&D activities, improving material formulation to meet performance and regulatory standards.
  • Design and optimise production processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing of devices under ISO 13485 on a laboratory scale.
  • Develop, refine, and validate testing protocols to ensure product safety and reliability.
  • Take responsibility for lab equipment maintenance and qualification.
  • Keep comprehensive records of experiments and results, adhering to strict documentation and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or Life Sciences.
