Birtenshaw are currently looking to recruit a Driver to join the Transport team. Our drivers are essential in transporting the children and young people that Birtenshaw supports to a variety of locations. Applicants must have held a full UK driving licence (manual), including D1, for a minimum of two years.

Hours: 20 hours per week - school term time only (split shifts AM and PM).

Salary: £24,587 - £25,412 per annum, pro rata (£12.74 - £13.17 per hour).

Main Responsibilities
  • To support Birtenshaw by driving children and young people to identified locations using one of the organisations vehicles.
  • To secure and lock Birtenshaw buildings from time to time following evening or weekend activities.
  • To observe and promote Health and Safety at all times when conveying young people and driving the organisations vehicles.
  • To adhere to all DVLA Regulations and legal requirements.
  • To complete all relevant paperwork regarding maintenance and safety issues of the vehicles.
  • To ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy and to a high standard.
  • To setup rooms for training events, meetings and school activities.
  • To collect and distribute deliveries across Birtenshaw Sites.
  • To contribute towards cleaning and site maintenance.
