About The Role
Reporting to the Baggage Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable performance of the baggage handling system within the terminal buildings. You will support the smooth end‑to‑end flow of passenger baggage, coordinate with third‑party handling agents, and help deliver an excellent airport experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the daily operational plan is delivered safely, effectively and clearly communicated to all third‑party handling agents.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture by identifying, reporting and challenging unsafe behaviours.
- Support the safe operation of baggage handling systems, including system isolation, clearing blockages and restarting equipment when required.
- Maintain a consistent, efficient and high‑quality service for the airport, its customers and stakeholders.
- Monitor and achieve all service level KPIs, ensuring performance standards are consistently met.
- Undertake all duties related to the operation, inspection and presentation of baggage systems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience Required
- A flexible team player with the ability to support a 24/7, 365‑day operational environment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety, with a safety‑first mindset in all tasks and decisions.
- Security‑focused, understanding the importance of maintaining high security standards in an international airport environment.
- Customer‑focused, recognising the impact of baggage operations on the overall passenger experience.
- Effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with management, handling agents and on‑site teams to maintain an open and proactive culture.
- Physically fit and capable of standing, walking and lifting for extended periods, with basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
