An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training Manager to join the Education and Training Team at the West Midlands Genetics Laboratory (WMGL) in order to support formal and informal training programmes under the guidance and direction of the Education and Training Lead. This is a key role within the Central and South Genomic Laboratory Hub, responsible for coordinating, developing and delivering high-quality education and training activities that support workforce development across our scientific and technical services.

Working closely with scientific, technical and clinical colleagues, you will help ensure that trainees and staff receive a high-quality learning experience, supporting programme delivery, trainee progression, training quality and compliance with national standards. The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple laboratories, engage with national training bodies, and contribute to shaping innovative education and training provision within one of the UK's leading genomic laboratory services.
The Training Manager will coordinate, develop and deliver education and training programmes across the WMRGL and the wider Central and South Genomic Laboratory Hub. The post holder will support a range of formal training pathways, including the Scientist Training Programme (STP), Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST), apprenticeship programmes and other healthcare science training routes, ensuring trainees receive a high-quality learning experience and progress successfully through their programmes.
