CASBA is looking for a Freelance Advocate to join our team and support adults with learning disabilities to have their voices heard, their rights upheld, and their choices respected. The role is values‑driven and person‑centred, co‑produced with the people we support.
Closing Date: Friday 24th July 2026
Location: South Birmingham
Contract: Freelance
Hours: Sessional depending on demand
Pay: £17.48 – £25 per hour depending on experience
About the Role
- Provide independent, person‑centred advocacy to adults with learning disabilities
- Support people to understand their rights and express their wishes
- Attend meetings, reviews, and appointments alongside the person
- Help people navigate services, systems, and decision‑making processes
- Keep clear, accurate records of your work
- Work flexibly, professionally, and in line with CASBA’s values
About You
- Have experience of working with people with learning disabilities
- Understand advocacy principles (or are keen to learn)
- Are kind, patient, and a good listener
- Can explain information clearly and simply
- Are confident working independently
- Can travel within South Birmingham
- Are reliable, organised, and committed to inclusion
- Experience in statutory or non‑statutory advocacy is welcome, but not essential – the right values matter most
