BVSC is recruiting a Volunteer Manager to join the Communities, Older Adults and Volunteering team. The role leads the Bolder Healthier Community Champions Volunteer Programme, overseeing the full volunteer journey from recruitment to ongoing engagement. The post holder will coordinate recruitment through the Volunteer Brum digital platform, ensure volunteers are onboarded and inducted, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Volunteering Programme across public parks, ensuring activities are well planned, inclusive and delivered safely.
  • Support local delivery partners to involve and support volunteers in their areas.
  • Develop engaging content for volunteer sessions and use feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Lead activity within the Blues Go Green funded programme and build relationships with partner organisations.
  • Oversee marketing, communications and events linked to both programmes, coordinate inductions and celebration events.
  • Support financial monitoring and reporting, manage invoices and track budgets.
  • Work closely with Head of Communities, Older Adults & Volunteering to deliver outcomes.

  • Experience managing programmes and leading teams.
  • Strong interest in community and voluntary sector work.
  • Organised, approachable and confident working with volunteers and partners.
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Terms and Conditions

  • 35 hour working week (full time hours, pro‑rated for part‑time staff)
  • 29 days annual leave + bank holidays a year (pro‑rated for part time staff)
  • 5% pension contribution
  • 3.5 times salary Death in Service benefit
