Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and helps launch young people for life through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to our young people.

What difference will you make? You will play a key role making a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities. Working as part of a dedicated team of volunteers, this vital role will help ensure we can continue our support for our young people aged between 9-18. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity, ensuring we are able to provide all our cadets with the same life changing experiences regardless of background.

What will you be doing? As Birmingham Vernon has moved back into its historical location and within the brand new multi million pound Midlands Boat Station, we still face regular challenges that every charity faces. Our long term goals are to provide our cadets with discounted or free of charge courses and opportunities to help them gain new skills, meet new people and experience all the Sea Cadets has to offer. To do this, fiscal management is key and we are looking to expand our Unit Management Team (UMT). This group of dedicated volunteers is responsible for charity compliance, managing the accounts and ensuring the cadets and our volunteers have the resources they need.
