We are a busy Tuscaloosa law office handling criminal, domestic, juvenile, and probate matters. We are seeking a highly organized, professional Office Manager / Legal Assistant / Receptionist to coordinate daily operations, support attorneys, and serve as the first point of contact for clients. Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional, courteous manner.
- Greet and assist clients and visitors.
- Schedule and confirm client appointments.
- Open, organize, and maintain both paper and electronic case files.
- File pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents accurately.
- Assist with drafting and proofreading correspondence and routine legal documents.
- Maintain office calendar including hearings, deadlines, and client meetings.
- Monitor and order office supplies, handle mail, and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, discovery organization, and other case-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a law office or professional office setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with legal software a plus.
- High school diploma required; additional training or certification in legal or administrative fields preferred.
Compensation & Growth
Performance-based raises: $0.50–$1.00/hr increase after 90 days, with additional increases possible at 6 months and annually. Experienced employees may grow to $16–$18/hr over time.
