Family Law office has an immediate opening for an experienced Legal Secretary supporting a busy sole practitioner. You must be punctual, reliable and honest with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Open the law office in the mornings.
  • Greet and screen all visitors and take messages when appropriate.
  • Open and sort the mail.
  • Deal with deliveries, clerks, runners and clients as needed.
  • Answer all telephone calls, input accurate messages into the system, redirect calls when appropriate and book appointments.
  • Responsible for the Attorney’s calendar and reminders, including correctly inputting Scheduling Orders on the calendar.
  • Responsible for screening, printing, and organizing daily e-mails.
  • Conduct initial client screening processes using office forms.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support in accordance with office procedures.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner at all times, whether by telephone or face to face.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to procedures.
  • Excellent writing and grammar.
  • Understanding of client confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology.
  • Commensurate with experience.

General Requirements:

  • Drug and alcohol screening and background check.
  • All references will be contacted.
