What are we looking for? Birmingham Newman University is looking to recruit Visiting Lecturers to join our expanding team. The successful applicant will work on our PWP (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) training and have BPS / BABCP registration. The postholder will be able to contribute to our Talking Therapies (formally known as IAPT) low intensity training and, depending on prior experience and professional registration, to our wider portfolio of programmes. We are also seeking Visiting Lecturers to act as lecturers, markers and moderators at all levels.
Successful candidates will have evidence of relevant professional experience and knowledge in counselling and/or psychotherapy; registered/accredited status with a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP); and a higher level qualification in counselling/psychotherapy. If appointed as a Visiting Lecturer, teaching will be allocated on an hourly basis. Successful applicants will be contacted when their expertise is required during the academic year. The number of hours available will be subject to course requirements and may be offered at short notice. The hourly rate of pay for this role varies dependant on the type of work completed.
