The Head of Academic Registry at Birmingham Newman University provides strategic and operational leadership for Academic Registry services, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality support across the full student lifecycle. The role is central to maintaining academic governance, regulatory compliance, and data integrity, while driving continuous improvement in systems, processes, and service delivery aligned with institutional priorities and sector requirements.
This is a full-time role (37 hours per week) within the Registry, reporting to the Academic Registrar. The postholder leads core Registry functions including assessments and graduation, student records, and timetabling, with responsibility for operational delivery, policy development, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory expectations.
The role requires significant experience in Academic Registry or equivalent higher education professional services, including leadership of multi-functional teams and expertise across assessments, student records, or timetabling. Candidates must demonstrate strong strategic leadership, analytical and problem-solving capability, and in-depth knowledge of UK HE regulation, alongside the ability to interpret academic regulations, manage systems (e.g. student information systems), and drive service improvement at an institutional level.
