Peer Mentor – Birmingham Mind (Permanent, Full‑Time, 37.5 hours per week)
Location: Alum Rock, Birmingham
Salary: £26,229 per annum
Responsibilities
- Support service users on their emotional journey and foster therapeutic alliances.
- Share ways of coping, understanding, and nurturing hope and inspiration drawn from personal experience.
- Provide live‑experience insight into recovery and the challenges of mental health difficulties.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Birmingham Mind and NHS staff within the Recovery House.
- Assist in short‑stay accommodation provision (up to 7 nights) for people in mental‑health crisis.
- Contribute to the team’s vision of “Better Mental Health for All” in Birmingham.
Qualifications
- Living experience of mental health difficulties with a period of stability and self‑management of wellbeing.
- Excellent communication skills and a good understanding of the individual recovery journey.
- Passion for the organisation’s values and vision.
- Right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months (no visa sponsorship).
