The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Shift Pattern: The Helpline is open 7 days per week, with shifts from 9am to 5pm and 3pm to 11pm, including weekends. This is an on-site role – remote working is not available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for people experiencing mental health difficulties through Birmingham Mind’s helpline service, which serves the Birmingham and Solihull area.
  • Receive and respond to calls, emails and webchat from individuals who may be in crisis, seeking general assistance, carers requesting advice, or looking for community support services.
  • Make appropriate referrals and signpost information about Birmingham Mind services and external partner agencies.
  • Work in a community-focused manner to keep statutory and local organisations informed of the provision, maintain close and effective links with them and stay up-to-date with any changes to local provision.
  • Under the direction of the service manager, support the running of the service in line with contractual requirements, Birmingham Mind’s Vision and Values, operating policies and procedures, and any relevant legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months’ experience in the mental-health field, with a demonstrated ability to support people to take control of their lives.
  • Ability to work with strong values and within a recovery approach.
  • Right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months; no visa sponsorship is offered.
