Our ambition is to grow and diversify our audiences, ensuring wider access to mainstream theatre for the people of our region.
Our Information & Sales Assistants ensure everyone is welcome by providing excellent service standards over the phone, through email, webchat, and face to face on our front counter. The role will ensure sales are maximised and that the customer experience is always of the highest standard by providing a welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service. This will involve working in all Information & Sales locations, and on occasion, at off-site events.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time) on an annualised hours basis. Your weekly hours will be on a shift basis, rota\’d in advance, and the number of hours you work per week will vary based on operational requirements, and will add up to a full-time basis overall.
- Location: Fully onsite to start with, then 1 day a week WFH after completing the probation period
- Interview date: Tuesday 12 August
- Start date: week commencing 8 September – and this is not flexible on this occasion.

Some of the things you\’ll be doing:
- Work in any Information & Sales area, including the main Information & Sales office (Phone Room), the front desk, or any other Information & Sales designated area, including temporary off-site areas.
- Provide a cheerful, happy, and exceptional service to all customers. Be the voice and face of Birmingham Hippodrome and act as ambassador of our organisation.
- Answer inbound phone calls, emails, and webchats regarding sales, exchanges, up and coming visits, and general queries.
- Share your own enthusiasm, passion and interests for our on and off-stage programme, encouraging visitors to experience our diverse programme. Seek opportunities to recommend, upsell and promote any offers including Friends memberships, Gift Vouchers, show programmes, and merchandise.
Some of the things you\’ll already have:
- An excellent and friendly telephone manner, as the role requires a high volume of phone calls
- Top-notch customer service skills, able to help all patrons in a friendly, courteous, and confident manner
- Experience in computerised ticketing systems or databases, processing payments and issuing refunds
- Ability and willingness to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends
