With a mission to enrich the cultural life of our region, Birmingham Hippodrome is one of the most popular theatre complexes in the UK. Varied productions in our 1,850-seat auditorium (dating from 1899), and in our 200-seat Patrick Studio ensure we play a key role in the region’s world-class cultural scene. With c.400 live performances annually in our main house, we present nothing but the best in touring musical theatre, ballet, dance, opera, pantomime, drama, and comedy. Our Patrick Studio welcomes a range of smaller-scale productions and is an important base for dance and for the development of new artistic work.
🍦Fun fact: If you stacked the number of ice creams we sold last year on top of each other it would make a tower 21 miles high! (that’s an amazing 115,000 ice cream tubs).

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our Visitor Experience team are at the heart of our organisation, welcoming visitors, keeping everyone safe and delivering on sales goals.
As a contracted team member you’ll be a professional and positive presence working across all areas of Front of House including the auditorium, bars and event spaces. You will lead by example and exceed expectations and help deliver those goosebump moments to visitors.
Our team provide a welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service to all visitors. You’ll also help ensure a safe working environment by following our procedures and standards across licensing and health & safety.
You will work flexibly across all front-of-house areas, including auditorium, bars, kiosks and event spaces.
🎟️ £22,381.63 per annum (£13.45 per hour)
🎟️ 32 hours per week (shift-based, on an annualised basis)
🎟️ Evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with some daytime work for our matinee performances
🎟️ Fully onsite at Birmingham Hippodrome

ABOUT YOU:
You must be over 18, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
You'll need experience of working as a team member in a visitor-facing role, preferably in a large, high-footfall venue, and you'll be a strong team player who goes above and beyond to support others when needed. You'll have excellent interpersonal skills, with a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude, a great work ethic, high standards, and remain calm under pressure.
Ideally, it would be great if you had a First Aid or Food Hygiene qualification, and knowledge of Health & Safety, especially related to food safety.
