BCMG is seeking a Finance Manager to be responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of the organisation’s finance function. The postholder will own bookkeeping, payroll, month-end processes, reconciliations, budget monitoring and the preparation of draft management information, working with the Head of Finance who provides strategic oversight, final review of quarterly Board reporting and leadership of the statutory accounts and audit.

This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced finance professional who can work independently, maintain strong controls and provide useful support to colleagues and budget holders within a small arts charity.

Reports to Head of Finance, with day-to-day working and prioritisation agreed with the Executive Director.

  • Line management: None
  • Hours: 14–21 hours per week (0.4–0.6 FTE), normally worked across two/three days, including regular overlap with the Head of Finance
  • Salary: £27,800–£32,000 FTE, depending on experience (£11,120–£12,800 pro rata for 14 hours per week; £16,680–£19,200 pro rata for 21 hours per week)
  • Contract: Permanent, subject to a six-month probationary period
  • Location: Birmingham/hybrid working, with regular attendance at CBSO Centre
  • Benefits: 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata, flexible working, 3% employer pension contribution, complimentary tickets to BCMG performances
