As Duty Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective and welcoming operation of the leisure centre. Leading colleagues across a range of activities, you'll help create positive experiences for customers while supporting a culture of safety, trust and continuous improvement. Your work has purpose, helping people of all ages stay active, healthy and connected while making a positive impact on communities and contributing to a better future.

What you'll do as a Duty Manager:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the leisure facility, ensuring activities are delivered safely and to a consistently high standard.
  • Lead, motivate and support operational colleagues, ensuring effective deployment to meet the daily programme.
  • Monitor the facility throughout the day, responding proactively to operational, customer service and safety requirements.
  • Take control of incidents, accidents and emergency situations, ensuring the appropriate procedures are followed.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures and company policies, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Support excellent customer experiences by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service across the centre.

Experience in a supervisory or management role within a leisure, hospitality, sport or customer-focused environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and develop colleagues.

A calm and confident approach when managing challenging situations and emergencies.

A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities and the importance of compliance.

Organised and proactive, with excellent time management skills and a commitment to delivering high standards.
