The post holder will be part of the team of DCTs based mainly within Birmingham Dental Hospital. Their clinical commitments will include generic primary care commitments and paediatric dentistry specific clinics. As part of the rota they will also have exposure to orthodontics and a consultant led community clinic. They will be part of the paediatric dental team across the community and hospital paediatric dental service. The postholder will also be part of an 1 in 7, non residential on call rota at Birmingham Children\’s Hospital.

The clinical duties of this post in Paediatric Dentistry will involve outpatient care of patients in paediatric dentistry at the Birmingham Dental Hospital involving all aspects of Paediatric dentistry. This will include attendance at new patient clinics and also treating patients on their own dedicated treatment sessions. In addition there will be clinical supervision, training and treatment under sedation.
As part of the post there will be an opportunity to attend an orthodontic clinic and consultant led community clinics. Certain clinics are involved in undergraduate teaching and there will also be opportunities to gain experience on these clinics. As part of the post the post holder will also attend generic primary care clinics in the dental hospital.
