Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist Moor Green Unit
Are you interested in developing your skills working with clients following a stroke or other acquired brain injuries? We are looking for an enthusiastic, client-centered occupational therapist who enjoys working within an interdisciplinary team and is passionate about supporting clients in achieving their goals.
Moor Green Brain Injury Unit, based within Moseley Hall Hospital, is a specialist interdisciplinary team providing an outpatient brain injury rehabilitation programme for people of working age. The emphasis is on participation as well as impairment and includes job retention support and vocational rehabilitation.
The team includes administrative staff, speech & language therapists, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, and skilled support staff. We have close links on site with BISC (Brain Injury Specialist Clinic), Birmingham Neuro Rehab Team, ESD and Community Stroke Teams, inpatients & specialist clinics at West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre at Selly Oak.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment for clients within individual and group sessions.
- Deliver sessions within the hospital unit, client’s home, or in the community.
- Act as a key worker, coordinating each client’s rehabilitation programme and goal‑planning process.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
- Receive regular supervision, training, and appraisal to support professional development.
