Overview

Teaching Fellow Secondary PGCE Mathematics at Birmingham City University. Full-time, permanent role. The starting salary is normally £44,131 per annum, with progression in post to £51,182 per annum. Grade: G. 1 Position available.

Responsibilities

  • Teach on the ITE Postgraduate route and provide professional development to trainees.
  • Work closely with partner schools, observe trainees in their teaching practice, and establish and maintain links.
  • Provide pastoral support to enable BCU PGCE students to thrive and become independent professionals.
  • Undertake administration activities and attend open days and Get into Teaching events as required.
  • Participate in opportunities for staff development, sharing, and CPD.
  • Contribute to the wider aims of the Secondary PGCE Maths Education team and uphold the university\’s commitment to educational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold a first degree in Maths and QTS.
  • Experience of teaching in secondary schools is essential.
  • Prior experience of working in Initial Teacher Training or mentoring trainees on ITE courses is desirable.
  • You must be able to evidence that you are a sound practitioner, highly motivated, well-organised and passionate about delivering exceptional evidence-based teaching.

Essential requirements

It is an essential requirement that you are a secondary Maths specialist, having worked in secondary education teaching Maths through delivering the national curriculum.
