We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Education, providing high‑quality teaching and supporting trainee teachers at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Initial Teacher Education (ITE) courses and postgraduate routes, ensuring courses are aligned to university priorities.
- Work closely with partner primary schools to establish and maintain strong theory‑to‑practice links.
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping them thrive and become independent professionals.
- Develop and apply innovative teaching techniques to foster enthusiasm, understanding and critical enquiry.
- Participate in Open Days, Get Into Teaching events and other key activities, sharing good practice across the team.
- Support research, enterprise and scholarly activities as integral to the post‑graduate teaching role.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience of teaching in primary schools.
- First degree and relevant experience in Initial Teacher Training is desirable.
- Experience mentoring trainee teachers or working in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is highly desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check is essential.
