Birmingham City University (BCU) is seeking a highly organised, detail‑driven and collaborative individual to provide administrative and operational support to our Product function, working within the wider Recruitment Operations and Insight team. As Product Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the University’s course portfolio review and management activities. You will contribute to work across a range of provision, including undergraduate and postgraduate courses, CPD and TNE. Working closely with the Product Manager, you will support the review of existing provision and the development of new courses, helping to ensure they align with market needs. You will also inform fee‑setting activity, assist with governance processes and help ensure the smooth administration of course changes throughout the academic year. This role will suit someone who is confident working with data, enjoys coordinating complex processes, and takes pride in delivering accurate, well‑organised support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for course portfolio review, fee‑setting and scholarship processes
  • Support the Product Manager in reviewing existing and proposed provision, ensuring market research and data inform decision‑making
  • Collect, analyse and maintain data relating to fees, entry requirements, scholarships, market trends and course performance
  • Prepare and coordinate reports and presentations relating to the course portfolio, fees and scholarships
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of course information, including fees and entry requirements
  • Coordinate communications between the Product team, academic units and professional services teams
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of operational processes to support effective portfolio management

Role Requirements

  • Experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in a higher education or related sector
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Experience in working with data, including data entry, analysis, and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data management
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with stakeholders and preparing reports
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with course or curriculum review processes and quality assurance in higher education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to manage documents and data efficiently

Interviews are expected to be held on 03/03/2026 and will be on campus. The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
