We are looking for an experienced Specialist Project Manager to lead high-profile capital projects that shape the future of our University. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoy delivering projects that make a real difference, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from feasibility to post-construction evaluation.
  • Develop project briefs, feasibility studies, and value-for-money options appraisals.
  • Manage procurement and appointment of consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Act as Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator, overseeing contracts, valuations, variations, and certifications.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, leading project teams to deliver results.
  • Implement governance, risk management, and best practice processes.
  • Drive innovation in project delivery, including the use of BIM, Smart Buildings, and Soft Landings.
  • Deputise for the Associate Director of Estates Development as required.

About You

  • Degree in Project Management or a construction-related discipline (Engineering, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, or similar).
  • MSc in Project Management or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Chartered status (MRICS, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale capital projects successfully.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Confident in influencing decision-making and solving complex project challenges.
