At Birmingham City University, we understand that our people are our most valuable asset. Whether they are academic staff delivering a transformational learning experience for our students; our Estates team maintaining BCU’s state-of-the-art facilities; or world-leading researchers developing solutions for global issues, every member of our community contributes to making us the University for Birmingham.
If you are excited by the opportunity to support us in attracting the talented and committed people that make us who we are, you should apply for our Resourcing Co-Ordinator role in BCU's People and Culture team.
Under the direction of a Resourcing Team Leader, you will take ownership of a number of recruitment campaigns to attract high-quality professionals to roles across the institution, working collaboratively to deliver an outstanding candidate and onboarding experience for all vacancies you lead on.
You will offer advice and guidance to hiring managers throughout the University, including our Academic Schools and professional support departments, to ensure a best-practice approach to recruitment and selection for the full range of University roles, including the academic teaching staff, researchers, and professionals across all of our support services.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of working in an in-house recruitment or resourcing team
- A customer-focussed approach and a commitment to delivering an excellent candidate experience
- A collaborative and cooperative approach to team-working, offering pro-active support and guidance to colleagues and other stakeholders
- A commitment to continuous professional development
The selection process will include an interview and a work-related exercise element, and full details will be provided to shortlisted candidates in advance.
Informal queries in relation to this opportunity are very welcome, and should be directed to Becca Owens, Resourcing Team Leader.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and to an environment that supports lawful free speech and academic freedom. We will continuously review and improve our policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that we are promoting these in all aspects of our operations. We believe that by working together, combining our many different backgrounds and life experiences, we will empower each other to reach our full potential.
The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
