The Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SaAS) has an exciting opportunity for a Timetabling Business Relationship Officer to join our centralised timetabling team. Focused on scheduling courses in Nursing and Midwifery, and Life and Health Sciences Schools, the post-holder will oversee and deliver the creation, maintenance and publication of timetables that enhance student and staff experience.

You will lead and manage a team of six Timetabling Coordinators, delivering effective, student-focused and high-quality timetabling solutions within your area of responsibility. Working with colleagues across the University, you will ensure excellent customer service while producing optimised module and course timetables for staff and students within the School. You will build and maintain strong relationships between Schools and the central Timetabling and Space Management team, acting as a key liaison to support Schools with timetabling challenges and promote best practice.

The role involves providing strategic scheduling advice to stakeholders on complex operational matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, and leading the development and implementation of the University timetable and associated initiatives for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also analyse timetabling and space management data to inform decision-making, identify improvements, and manage senior stakeholder relationships, negotiating with academic colleagues to support service development and resolve timetabling issues effectively.

You will be educated to degree level or able to demonstrate an equivalent combination of professional qualifications and relevant experience. Ideally, you will have experience managing, developing and maintaining systems related to timetabling, along with using data interrogation tools, timetable software and Higher Education business systems such as Semestry TermTime, SITS and Presto. You will have proven experience leading and managing teams, with the ability to support, develop and motivate staff. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to influence and negotiate, support organisational change, and build effective relationships with stakeholders while communicating complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
