Role Summary
The Elizabeth Bryan Multiple Births Centre (EBMBC) is an exciting partnership between Birmingham City University and the Multiple Births Foundation, a charity (founded in 1988) which has developed a national and international reputation for educating and advising healthcare professionals in the specialist needs of multiple birth families. The vision of the EBMBC is to become an internationally renowned centre for excellence in education, practice and research into multiple pregnancy, birth and life course of families with multiples. We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to support the Centre in engaging in research with multiple birth families and professionals to recognise their individualised needs. By joining our team, you will be contributing to our ongoing projects aimed at understanding and improving maternity and early years care, as well as the wider health and social care of twins, triplets and multiple birth families.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research, education and practice development activities of the Elizabeth Bryan Multiple Births Centre.
- Support the development of research proposals, undertake research activities and engage with key EBMBC stakeholder groups while adhering to research governance principles and standards.
- Contribute to the support of others undertaking post-graduate education or professional development.
- Develop your research skills and abilities in order to develop your own research career goals.
Essential Requirements
- Educated to degree level, with evidence of post-graduate study. Ideally working towards or willing to study at doctoral level.
- Possess sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues, students, families and stakeholders.
- Confident in building contacts and participate in internal and external networks for the exchange of information and collaboration.
- Evidence of engagement in continuous professional development.
Desirable Requirements
- Evidence of research activity and publication is desirable.
