Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to develop online content and learning objects to engage students in their library learning and research, and to promote library services and resources in an interactive and inclusive manner. This role supports the Library and Learning Resources (L&LR) Strategy, stimulating intellectual curiosity through information and digital academic literacies, and advances the University’s agenda of innovation, inclusivity and excellence in higher education.
Key Responsibilities
- You will develop outputs to be delivered via web, e‑learning and other communication media to enhance the quality of learning, teaching and research through effective integration of technologies and pedagogies for synchronous and asynchronous digital, blended and online learning.
- You will work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to design, implement and evaluate technology‑enhanced learning experiences, promote digital innovation, and ensure an excellent experience for students and staff.
- Reporting directly to the Head of Library Technologies and Digital Innovation, you will provide expert support to library staff in the effective use of technologies to engage with student communities.
Essential Requirements
- A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of creating engaging online content for use within educational or professional settings.
- Ability to demonstrate the effective use of current and emerging technologies and e‑learning tools.
- Experience of training and supporting others to create their own digital learning materials.
- Awareness and understanding of pedagogies that support learning, preferably within a higher education environment.
- Demonstrable ability to support service change and innovation, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and explain it clearly to non‑specialists, while building strong collaborative working relationships.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively in a fast‑paced and changing environment.
- A collaborative approach to team working, with a strong commitment to sharing knowledge and continuing professional development (CPD).
