Role Summary:

We are seeking a Lecturer to join our Adult Nursing Team supporting the delivery of high-quality services across the University. In this role, you will play a vital role in developing a highly skilled workforce by delivering evidence-based education that enables healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care. By supporting the development of specialist knowledge and practice, the postholder contributes to improved patient experiences, better outcomes, and the continued quality and effectiveness of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching across the Cervical Screening and Colposcopy education programmes, ensuring learning activities are evidence-based, aligned with national guidance, and meet programme learning outcomes.
• Provide high-quality academic and pastoral support to students, including assessment, constructive feedback, and guidance to promote academic achievement, professional development, and wellbeing.
• Deputise for the Course Leader as required, providing operational leadership for the programme, overseeing day-to-day delivery, responding to student and stakeholder enquiries, and ensuring continuity during periods of absence.
• Work collaboratively with clinical partners, external stakeholders, and colleagues to support programme delivery, contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance activities, maintain high educational standards, and ensure an outstanding student learning experience.

Essential Requirements:

• Registered Nurse Colposcopist Specialist with current professional registration and demonstrable expertise in colposcopy practice.
• Registered Cervical Screening Sample Taker with current competency and experience within the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
• Experience of teaching at postgraduate level, including the planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of learning for healthcare professionals.

Desirable Requirements:

• Formal teaching qualification (e.g. PGCert in Higher Education, PGCert in Education, or SEDA accreditation), or a willingness to work towards an appropriate teaching qualification.
• Experience of providing academic and pastoral support to postgraduate or healthcare students, promoting their learning, wellbeing, and professional development.
• Experience of working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of high-quality education and enhance the student learning experience.
• Experience of coordinating or leading educational programmes or modules, including supporting the operational delivery of teaching and responding to student and stakeholder enquiries.
