Role Summary:

We are seeking a Lecturer in General Practice Nursing to join our School of Nursing and Midwifery team supporting the delivery of high-quality services across the University. In this role, you will provide academic leadership and deliver high-quality teaching that supports the development of the general practice nursing workforce. You will play a key role in designing, delivering and enhancing education that equips learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence to meet the evolving needs of primary care.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will provide high-quality academic leadership and teaching in general practice nursing, ensuring that learners develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based care within primary care settings.
• The role includes leading the delivery of modules and contributing to curriculum design, development and enhancement.
• You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching across both theoretical and practice-based learning, together with the design and delivery of assessments and constructive feedback that supports student achievement.
• You will be expected to engage in scholarly activity to maintain academic and professional credibility. This may include contributing to research, writing for publication, presenting at conferences, and participating in activities that enhance teaching and learning.

Essential Requirements:

• You will have a current recordable qualification with the NMC.
• You will have current experience of facilitating learning for nurses working in general practice, as well as supporting and facilitating learning for nursing students in both clinical practice and university settings.
• You will possess a sound theoretical understanding of general practice nursing and demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• You will also have a high standard of English language proficiency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal abilities.
• You will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing team and workload demands, while maintaining a commitment to reflective practice, continuous professional development, and ongoing service improvement.
