Grow Your Own Graduate Programme - 2024/25 and 2025/26 - Two-year fixed term contract role - Project Officer

Department Partnerships and STEAM | Location City Centre Campus (STEAM House) | Salary £26,266 to £28,995 per annum | Contract: Two-year fixed term | Status: Full Time

We are seeking a Grow Your Own Project Officer to join our Student Enterprise team and help inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

You will support the planning and delivery of events, competitions and enterprise programmes; provide front-line support to students; manage communications through newsletters and social media; maintain engagement data; and collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enhance the student experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all activities of the BCU Student Enterprise Manager within the Partnerships and STEAM Directorate.
  • Provide high quality customer service and direct information and guidance to BCU students and colleagues across the University.
  • Help identify and evaluate opportunities for students to grow their enterprise skills by leading engagement with students and other stakeholders, promoting the service and maintaining data for analysis.
  • Recently achieved a degree from Birmingham City University (or due to complete between 1 August 2024 and 31 July 2026).
  • Experience of working in a front-line customer service environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective student engagement.
  • Knowledge and understanding of careers and employability within a higher education environment.
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using databases and record management systems.
  • An understanding of confidentiality, data protection, equality, diversity and inclusion.

This role offers the opportunity to gain experience across enterprise, events, partnerships and student engagement while contributing to graduate success.
