Role Summary: We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Supervisor to provide a front-line operational service across the University estate. You will supervise a team of Facilities Assistants, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well-maintained while delivering an excellent service to staff, students, visitors, and contractors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating daily workloads
- Supporting team performance and development
- Monitoring health and safety compliance
- Overseeing contractor activities
- Carrying out building inspections
- Responding to incidents
- Supporting University events and operational projects
You will also work closely with Facilities and Estates colleagues to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively across campus.
Qualifications:
- Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence or working towards
- Experience in a similar facilities, estates, operations, or supervisory role
- Experience working in a customer service-focused environment
- Relevant training, qualifications, or practical experience in manual handling
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements relevant to the role
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email systems
- Experience using Facilities Management systems, helpdesk software, or similar portals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
- Ability to organise workloads, prioritise tasks, and support a team effectively
- Flexible approach to working hours, including supporting incidents, emergencies, and key University events when required
