A Bar and Events Assistant at The Pavilion supports the delivery of a wide range of events and bar services, ensuring a welcoming, professional and enjoyable experience for students, staff and external customers. The role involves customer service, bar operations, event set‑ups and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and professionalism in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff and external customers.
- Prepare and serve drinks in line with licensing regulations.
- Operate the till, take orders and process payments accurately.
- Restock the bar and maintain stock levels during service.
- Collect glassware and carry out cleaning duties throughout shifts.
- Assist with event set‑up, room layouts and breakdowns.
- Support the delivery of internal and external sports and events.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety at all times.
- Carry out manual handling tasks as required.
- Undertake any duties delegated by the Bar Supervisor.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years or over.
- Experience in bar work and events.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Sunday, including daytime, evening and late‑night shifts.
Desirable Requirements
- Basic knowledge of licensing laws.
- Experience working large‑scale events.
