We are seeking an experienced and exceptional individual to join our dynamic team. Working within the International team in the Marketing, Recruitment and Communications department, our team is responsible for delivery of ambitious student recruitment targets through promotion of the University and its portfolio of courses to prospective students and via education agents in core international markets.

Role information:

The postholder will coordinate all aspects of international education agent management in support of the university's international student recruitment strategy. The Agents Officer will oversee the onboarding, communication, engagement, and performance monitoring of education agents, ensuring an efficient and professional service aligned to the university's agent strategy and compliance requirements.

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new agents, ensuring all contractual, compliance and training requirements are met.
  • Maintain regular communications with agents, providing timely updates, resources, and guidance to support recruitment activity.
  • Act as the first point of contact for agent contract and commission queries and issues, ensuring a responsive and high-quality service.
  • Coordinate and process commission payments accurately and in a timely manner, in line with agreed terms and internal processes.
  • Monitor agent performance and maintain accurate records to support formal reviews and decision making.
  • Support the implementation of the university's agent strategy, ensuring alignment of day-to-day activities with wider goals.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities such as webinars, training sessions and newsletters for agents.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Admissions and Finance, to ensure smooth coordination across agent-related processes.
  • Support the Director of International Student Recruitment in preparing reports, briefings and performance reviews.
  • Maintain systems and databases related to agent activity and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Develop our network of agents and other partners across markets, to drive recruitment performance, liaising closely with the Associate Director International Recruitment and Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Communications.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in international student recruitment or agent management.
  • Skills in building and maintaining effective working relationships, particularly with external partners.
  • Experience of working with data and systems to track performance and maintain accurate records.
  • Skills in communication, both written and verbal, for engaging and supporting international stakeholders.
  • Experience of coordinating operational processes involving multiple teams or departments.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing contracts, payments or similar documentation.
  • Skills in resolving queries and managing competing priorities in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience of delivering or supporting training and engagement activity for external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of education agent compliance and best practice.
  • Experience of using CRM systems in a recruitment or relationship management setting.
  • Knowledge of international student recruitment processes and timelines.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
