Role Summary
We are seeking an Apprenticeship Compliance Officer to join our Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SaAS), supporting the delivery of high‑quality services across the University. In this role, you will support apprenticeship compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and contractual obligations. You will assist with monitoring and record‑keeping to maintain standards and support the preparation for external audits including DfE funding audits and Ofsted inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monitoring of apprenticeship delivery to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation related to apprenticeship compliance.
- Help prepare documentation and evidence for external audits, including DfE funding audits and Ofsted inspections.
- Liaise with internal teams to gather compliance‑related information and resolve queries.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
- Support the tracking of apprenticeship performance data for reporting purposes.
- Respond to compliance‑related enquiries from staff, employers and external partners.
- Assist in identifying and escalating compliance risks or issues.
- Support training activities related to apprenticeship compliance.
- Assist with producing guidance on apprenticeship compliance.
- Undertake other duties as required to support the apprenticeship compliance function.
- Supporting University events such as enrolment, graduation, open days, and clearing as required.
Essential Requirements
- Experience or knowledge of apprenticeship compliance or quality assurance processes.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Good communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and produce clear guidance documentation.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience in monitoring and reporting compliance or performance data.
- Good IT skills, including use of databases and spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in an apprenticeship or education compliance role.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with higher education apprenticeship delivery.
