Birmingham City Women FC is seeking a highly organised, education-focused lead to oversee the academic provision for our Women’s Academy players (U16–U21). You will ensure our education programme meets the targets set out in the Academy Performance Plan, supporting both academic achievement and player wellbeing in line with the Club’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage the Academy Education functionality, ensuring all areas across the programme for all Players in the U16 – U21 Age groups are adhered to and guidelines met.
  • Actively engage in a fully functioning competent framework for education programme.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of Academy players, liaising with the Club Safeguarding Team, Performance Wellbeing Lead and Player Care.
  • To track progress of all players and monitor their academic progress against their individual academic flight path.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking the educational progress of all Academy players and make necessary interventions with them and their Education Provider when and where appropriate.
  • To provide Educational Progress reports and reviews, and host parent/players reviews.
  • To manage and store educational data, as appropriate, related to players academic progress in accordance with GDPR legislation.
  • Lead on all educational internal and external inspections.
  • To ensure we are maintaining high standards of academic records.
  • To provide appropriate pastoral and well-being support for all Academy players and liaise with the Academy Player Care and Academy Performance Wellbeing Lead.
  • Work with the Academy Player Care to ensure life skills training and personal development programmes are delivered.
  • Ensure success in the pursuit of maximising the academic performance of all Academy players.
  • Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times.
  • Degree level education.
  • PGCE, ECT, QTS, or QTLS (or working towards).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and competence in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Understanding of the education system, safeguarding, and pastoral care.
