Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality, position-specific goalkeeping coaching sessions across the Academy programme.
  • Support team training sessions, ensuring goalkeeper development is prioritised within the collective environment.
  • Plan, deliver, and review coaching sessions in line with the weekly programme.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing delivery of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Career Progression Plans for Academy goalkeepers.
  • Provide matchday support across age groups, contributing to goalkeeper development within the games programme.
  • Contribute to player reviews and reflective evaluations in line with Academy processes.
  • Monitor and record training sessions, fixture data, and player engagement using the Football Intelligence Platform.
  • Maintain and update Performance Clock information with accurate training and match insights.
  • Monitor player development and contribute to succession planning across the Academy.
  • Evaluate trialist goalkeepers and provide structured feedback in line with recruitment processes.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of mesocycle goalkeeping plans alongside the Head of Academy Goalkeeping.
  • Attend and actively contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and age group meetings.
  • Analyse individual and unit performance using video and collaborate with Performance Analysis staff.
  • Ensure all equipment and resources are prepared and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Liaise effectively with coaching staff and phase leads to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Premier League/EFL Youth Development and goalkeeping requirements.
  • Engage in continued professional development and the Club’s appraisal processes.
  • Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of players, working closely with the Club Safeguarding Team.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • UEFA B Licence.
  • UEFA B Licence Goalkeeping.
  • FA Safeguarding Certification.
  • Experience coaching goalkeepers within a professional or elite youth environment.
  • Strong understanding of goalkeeper development across youth phases.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging coaching sessions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary performance environments.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
  • UEFA A Advanced Youth Award.
  • Youth International experience.
  • Experience working within a Category 1 or 2 Academy.
  • Background in performance analysis or use of video feedback tools.
