Various part‑time positions available. Opportunities available across Birmingham: Handsworth Leisure Centre, Kingstanding Leisure Centre and Linden Road Leisure Centre. We are looking for passionate and qualified Swimming Teachers to join our Sport & Wellbeing Service team and deliver high‑quality swimming lessons as part of the “Strokes for Life” programme. You’ll be responsible for teaching a range of abilities, supporting progression, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured swimming lessons in line with the “Strokes for Life” scheme.
  • Work closely with the Site Manager and Swimming Co‑ordinator to develop and improve the swimming programme.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians to support learner progress and encourage retention.
  • Validate and issue swimming badges and certificates.
  • Keep up to date with best practices and attend relevant training and development sessions.
  • Support the site during non‑lesson periods with alternative duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Sound understanding of swimming instruction principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both children and adults.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and respond to enquiries.
  • Commitment to training and continuous professional development.

Essential Qualifications

  • ASA/STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Certificate.
  • Recognised Lifesaving Qualification.
