We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and customer focused Housing Officer into our Sheltered Housing Services for Older People Team to deliver a quality customer focused service. This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving dedicated team where we want our tenants to succeed.
You will be providing patch-based housing management, and tenancy and estates management support to the Services for Older People Team to enable our tenants to succeed and sustain their tenancy. You will work on both proactive and reactive service delivery, taking a holistic approach in ensuring we assist our customers in sustaining their tenancy and community.
You will manage a team of staff to support the delivery of the above together with health and safety and compliance checks to your patch sheltered schemes. You will need to work both solo and as a team to collaborate with multiple agencies involved in the sheltered housing service, and have a visible, approachable presence on your patch.
A good knowledge or experience of staff management, all aspects of housing management, older adults issues along with building Health and Safety would be desirable; however, training will be provided. This role is full time working 36.5 hours Monday to Friday, working on a hybrid basis, and you will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check as part of the role.
About you
Ideally you will possess a good working knowledge of sustainment and enforcement with experience and understanding around all aspects of housing management and the legislation that underpins it. Alongside this you will need experience of dealing with the public both face to face and by phone and be able to deal with pressurised situations in a controlled and effective manner. You will need both good written and verbal English together with IT system usage.
