Deputy Cook Grade A – £24,796–£27,254 pro rata Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
Working 25 hours per week.
Location – Hallmoor Academy, 50 Scholar Gate, Kitts Green, Birmingham B33 0DL.
Hours: Monday–Friday term time only between 8:30 am – 1:30 pm approximately. Hours to be confirmed to include 3 cleaning days and 5 teacher training days.
Cityserve is a Birmingham City Council catering service for school meals providing fresh and nutritious food for school kitchens across the UK. Healthy eating is a continuous theme throughout all our menus and we are committed to the wellbeing of pupils.

Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing and cooking meals for pupils.
- Assist in planning and controlling all aspects of the service.
- Keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
- Assist in costing, stocktaking and keeping appropriate records using IT skills.
- Use iLearning and Oracle.
- Assist with staff training.
- Maintain a menu with balanced diets and allergen control.
- Be aware of the care users’ needs and dietary preferences.
- Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Supervisor.
- Good people skills.
- Passion about food and customer service.
- Great team player.
- Food Safety Level 3 certification.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Allergy Awareness Certificate.
- Experience in a similar environment.
- High standards and quality drive.
- Can-do attitude.
- Previous kitchen experience is essential for this role.
